Infrastructure Project Phase 1

To help keep residents and business owners informed, the City will post weekly construction updates as they become available. These updates will include information about the current schedule, upcoming work, and other items related to the project.

Updates are expected to be provided late Tuesday afternoons. If a weekly update is not available, any new information or notes will be posted below as they are received. Construction update flyers will also be available at the Post Office and at OM Food Mart on the south side of Kandiyohi. Moore Engineering will prepare the update flyers, and the City will distribute them.

Key Notes

  • The public is urged to use caution throughout this construction season and to stay clear of all construction equipment & areas being actively worked on.
  • Please use caution when driving on the roads of the project. Not all roads will be passable with all vehicles at all times. Use caution when roads are muddy due to rain. 
  • There may be times of temporary water shut downs as the contractor is working on temporary hook-ups and main installations.
  • Once the concrete is poured, it needs 7 days of cure time before any traffic is allowed on it. Please refrain from driving on any curb and gutter or driveways until after this time frame. Concrete can be walked on after 24 hours.

August 5, 2026
Weekly Update •The contractor will be working on the sub-cut on 4th Street and Pacific Avenue. They will also be spreading topsoil on 3rd Street and McLauglin Avenue.
Looking Ahead •The contractor will be completing the sub-cut on 4th Street and Pacific Avenue. There will be an additional crew beginning to pour the concrete curb and gutter on the south side of town.

Water Tower Update • The contractor will be starting work on the water tower foundation, which will take multiple months.

July 28, 2026
Weekly Update •The contractor will be finishing the watermain and services on 5th Street and Pacific Avenue. They will begin sub-cutting the roadways of 5th Street and Pacific Avenue.
Looking Ahead •The contractor will be completing the sub-cut on 5th Street and Pacific Avenue. There will be an additional crew beginning to pour the concrete curb and gutter on the south side of town.

Water Tower Update • The contractor will be starting work on the water tower. This week and into next week they will be working on the water main and sanitary sewer mains to connect the new tower.

July 21, 2026
Weekly Update •The contractor will be working on the watermain and sanitary sewer on Pacific Avenue and will begin working on building the roadway on 4th Street.
Looking Ahead •The contractor will be working on water services on Pacific Avenue and the Storm Sewer on 5th Street.

July 14, 2026
Weekly Update •The contractor will continue working on the watermain and sanitary sewer services will begin working on the storm sewer on 4th Street.
Looking Ahead •The contractor will be working on building the roadway of 5th Street and will begin working on the utilities on 6th Street.

July 7, 2026
