Required Building Permit Information & Materials

Depending on the type and scope of your project, you may be required to provide:

• Completed Building Permit Application – Include the property address, property owner information, contractor information and license number (if applicable), description of the proposed work, use of the structure, and estimated project valuation.

• Complete Set of Building Plans – Building permit applications must include plans showing the work being completed. Plans should provide enough detail for the Building Inspector to review the project for applicable building code requirements.

• Site Plan – When applicable, provide a site plan showing the property lines, location of existing and proposed structures, and distances from structures to property lines.

• Project Details – Include the size and dimensions of the proposed work, square footage, construction type, materials, and other information necessary to explain the project.

• Additional Information – Depending on the project, additional plans, documentation, or permits may be required for plumbing, mechanical, electrical, demolition, or other specialized work.

Please Note: Do not begin construction until the building permit has been approved and issued and all required building setback lines have been approved by the Zoning Administrator.

Incomplete applications or plans may delay the permitting process. If you are unsure what information is required for your project, please contact the City Office before submitting your application.
