"No Mow May"
No Mow May – City of Kandiyohi
The City of Kandiyohi is offering residents the opportunity to participate in No Mow May to support pollinators during a critical early growing period. Participants may voluntarily delay mowing during the month of May to help provide habitat for bees and other beneficial species.

Residents within the City of Kandiyohi
Important Guidelines:
- Registration is required.
- Noxious weeds must still be controlled in accordance with Minnesota Statute § 18.77 and applicable City ordinances.
- Participation is a temporary exception to City Ordinance § 92.38 – Owners Responsible for Trimming, Removal and the Like, which generally requires vegetation to be maintained at or below 8 inches in height.
- Participation does not exempt properties from public nuisance, health, or safety regulations.
- Properties must be brought back into compliance by June 1.
- Properties that are not registered for the program must remain in compliance with City ordinances. The City will take appropriate steps to abate violations as necessary.
